Free Tutoring

Having been “financially challenged” for much of my life, I know how frustrating it can be to need something and not be able to afford it.

Therefore, I offer one pro-buono tutoring relationship to an aspiring writer who wants to improve his-or-her craft, and whose work I enjoy reading.

Pro-Buono (Free) Tutoring Guidelines

  1. At the outset, we need to establish some goals. What do you want to accomplish through this tutoring relationship? The more specific you can be, the more successful the experience is likely to be.
  2. It’s important that each of us appreciate each other’s style. Both that I enjoy reading your work, and that you find value in the feedback I provide.
  3. We also need to have either criteria for when “we’re done”—or a limit on how long we will work together. For example, six months is a good time frame, in which it’s reasonable to think you can make significant progress towards a specific goal.

By the way, whether or not I enjoy reading your work is NOT relevant to whether it “is any good”. My decisions in this respect are based on my personal taste in fiction. Also, I am able to do pro-buono work with only one writer at a time.
